Mentorship for Rural Immigrants Program
Province Wide / Online

Mentorship for Rural Immigrants provides no-cost career mentorship and Canadian cultural learning opportunities to immigrants living in rural Alberta communities. The program combines online self-study and local in-person meetings over the course of several months.

Participants review online materials, articles, activities, and assignments related to key program topics. They are matched with a volunteer mentor living in their community and meet with their mentor regularly to discuss or clarify key program topics. Participants learn the “soft skills” that have been identified as important by Canadian employers. Upon completion of the program, participants often describe having improved skills, knowledge, and confidence to communicate more effectively in their Canadian workplaces.
